When I was in middle school, my family had to leave my homeland of India due to the constant discrimination we faced. We moved to Dubai, then the United States where enduring the same challenges, I went to college, earned a degree, and started a small business here in Bolingbrook.

New to this country, I did this all without seeing people who looked like me, talked like me, or prayed like me, represented in our Government. From our local legislatures to the halls of Congress, it felt like I could not grasp what it would be like to be in public service or to be part of the fabric of our uniquely American story.

That’s why I pushed myself to be active in our local government, and that’s why I am running for County Board; to use my experiences to give the board a window into the challenges I faced, the challenges that as an immigrant, a small business owner and as a person who lives here in Will County. Together we can craft more inclusive policies against discrimination that promote diversity and understanding, policies that help the County Board establish real, positive change to hold ourselves accountable and champion inclusion so that we can be the agents of change who help shake our society to its highest peaks.

Committed To Local Governing

The massive community impact of local government has always amazed me. Community is at the heart of history, and the decisions made in one small town can alter the entire scope of the past and change the future. While living in Dubai, I witnessed a transformation of barren desert lands into a state-of-the-art city defined by skyrise architecture, eco-friendly urbanism, and ultramodern luxury. Such large-scale change has to start small; which is why I have made it my mission to push for the changes we need to see as a community at the local, grassroots level.

Making Bolingbrook A Stronger Community

In 2010 I married my amazing wife Subuhi and moved my growing family to Bolingbrook. With three young girls to raise, I quickly became aware of the vital role a community plays in the raising and inspiring of future generations. I have aspirations of a hometown where everyone pitches in, neighbors care for one another, and diverse identities are recognized and encouraged to succeed.
