Leadership Through Listening

Thoughtful policy doesn’t arise out of the blue. or come from those who aren’t willing to dive into the research and listen to what others are saying. I know that all steps forward must be prefaced by a giant step back to reflect and consider the greater context. The policy proposals described on this page are therefore subject to change as circumstances evolve and new policy ideas arise. My campaign is built on a fundamental belief that great leadership is rooted in community input.

Diversity and Inclusion

Diversity and inclusion

Our County Board should be a place where different ideas are respected, the aspirations of ordinary people have a platform, and our residents have a genuine and effective voice throughout our community.

Let’s make it easier for everyone in Will County to be involved in our county government. I pledge to not only lift up marginalized voices but to create systems within our county board that get their strength from broad community input.

Creating a Business-Friendly County

Creating a business-friendly county

As a small business owner, I know the challenges our community is facing throughout our collective recovery. I will continue to be an advocate for small businesses as the Board works toward strengthening our local economy. We need new jobs here in Will County, and that means incentives for businesses to set up shop in our community, like property tax breaks, micro-loans, and discounted fees and permits to make our county an attractive place to start a business.

I will never stand for outsourcing our projects to out-of-district contractors - instead, I will advocate for at least 55% of our contracts to be awarded to minority-owned businesses.

Protecting Our Environment

Protecting our environment

We must protect Will County’s natural beauty and green space so that we can pass on a liveable world to our children and grandchildren

Will County has $133 million in federal pandemic aid to allocate towards projects, money that should go towards modernizing our infrastructure and making what we can’t replace greener. We need to protect our water resources, invest in wind and solar and ensure our county is a leader when it comes to a sustainable economy.

We need to come together to combat the threat of climate change. We can start at home by Preserving and protecting our existing wildlife and park facilities from heavy pollution and hazardous waste. Advocating for the local incorporation of eco-friendly technologies and green initiatives to fuel Bolingbrook’s local economy, and spearheading programs to educate the public on climate change and how we as a community can make a difference.
